The Community College of the District of Columbia recently received preliminary approval from the D.C. Public Charter School Board to create the Community College Preparatory Academy, a school that will prepare adults for postsecondary education and employment, and is slated to open in Fall 2013. Talbot Consulting provided full- scope support to key stakeholders in the application process, providing expertise in school design best practices; guidance in resource allocation, including staffing and budgeting; and preparing and writing the successful charter application.

“Without the support of Talbot Consulting, we never would have been able to pull together such a thorough application,” writes Connie Spinner, Founding Board Member of Community College Preparatory Academy. “We believe that the story we told in the narrative not only met all the technical requirements of the application, but still fully communicated our passion for the adult learners of the District of Columbia.”

Talbot Consulting, an education management consulting practice based in New York City, is recognized as a strategic partner to state and local education agencies, charter management organizations, school design teams, new school startups, established education institutions, and novice and veteran educators.
