Since Governor Christie signed the bill into law September 2010, 130 New Jersey districts have applied to participate in the state’s inter-district school choice program.  With $3.6M in support from the Walton Family Foundation, we can now say that school choice is finally on it’s way in Newark!

    Dear Perry’s Principles
Hi, My Name is Travis Eugene Warren Jr. I am 9 years old. I go to Budlong Elementary School located in South Los Angeles, California. I have been coming to The Neighborhood Educational Training Center since I was in the 1st grade to get help with my homework.
Every since I have been coming to the center, I have improved; also, I have been able to keep up in my class with my reading, writing, and math.
My Teacher, Mr. Kelly, is proud of me, and I’m proud of myself too. When I go to school, I go with confident knowing that I know my school work. This is because of my tutoring and homework center helping me with my homework.
I hope that my classmates that need the help could come to my homework center too, but they can’t because it is too small. The center is located in my tutor home, and she uses her kitchen table with 3 other kids E’neice, Christopher and Saalyiah.
If my tutor, Mrs. Doucette, can get the $7,000, she can make the center bigger. Then my classmates that need the help could come too, and maybe she can get some computers so we can have one for each kid. This is why I’m writing this letter to you. Thanks to my friends at Perry’s Principles AC360
